The roots of the Healthpartners Fund began to grow more than a decade ago with the Canadian Cancer Society, who led efforts to explore fundraising opportunities in federal workplaces. At that time, Treasury Board regulations allowed only the United Way to raise funds through payroll deduction. In 1987, after two years of planning, several major health charities reached an agreement and joined forces in order to perform workplace fundraising.
One year later, the Healthpartners Fund was created. Healthpartners is a true partnership. Our members work together because they realize that more can be accomplished as a team.
Across the country, thousands of Canadians and their loved ones are struggling to ensure the best possible quality of life while fighting disabling and life-threatening diseases. Donations made through Healthpartners enable our member organizations, and their many volunteers, to provide caring support to these Canadians. A gift to Healthpartners can bring better health - and hope - to people in your community.
Our health is one of our greatest assets and we want to ensure the well being of all Canadians. Our Healthpartners Fund supports medical research as well as health education and patient services. A healthy contribution results in a healthier Canada.
